    Located just 30 minutes from the bright city lights of Las Vegas, Lake Mead is a quick getaway where people can explore the night sky. Visit Lake Mead National Recreation Area during the Perseid Meteor Shower to see 60 to 100 meteor showers in one hour. The Lake Mead Institute will provide telescopes.
